How to set up Tracking on Dahua X-Spans PTZ Series

One of the biggest differences from a standard PTZ, and probably the most common question we get about these cameras, is how the tracking works; it is set up differently from a single-lens PTZ.

A PTZ stands for Pan, Tilt, Zoom. It means the camera can move left, right, up, down, and zoom in on a target. They are an ideal choice when monitoring multiple points at once is necessary. You can set presets to quickly monitor different scenes, or set up tours to automatically monitor at set intervals.

How to set up auto tracking on X-Spans PTZ

Auto tracking works by setting presets on the camera and linking those presents to IVS rules, so when a rule is triggers, the system can automatically follow a detected human or vehicle, keeping the subject in frame without the need for manual control. For installers and end users, this means clearer evidence, better visibility of incidents, and less chance of losing a target as it moves across a site.
